How To Light Wick Candles

Make sure your wooden wick is about 1/4 inch tall. Use a long match or lighter and start at a corner to get the first burn started. If it's not lighting up, you can drag the match or lighter along the top. Ideally, once the corner catches it will slowly stretch out over the width of the wick. We do not use any accelerants so it will take a couple of tries to get the wick right. It will light through!

Once lit it's super important to let your candle burn until the melted wax has reach the edge of the vessel. This is called a memory burn and takes up to 3 hours. Doing a proper memory burn will ensure that you get the longest life and cleanest burn out of your candle.

Once the wax has melted to the edge, you can blow out the candle to let it cool down. Once cooled, gently pinch the carbon from the wick wither with wick trimmers or between your  trimmers to shorten the wick back to 1/4 inches. Try to do it as straight as possible!

WARNING

Never leave a burning candle unattended and burn within the sight. Burn candle out of the reach of children and pets. Always leave 3 inches of space between other burning candles. Burn on a heat safe surface and away from anything that can catch fire. Trim to 1/4 inches each time a candle is lit and avoid drafts. Never touch or move a burning/hot candle, wait until it's completely cooled to moved. Discontinue use after wax is 1/2 inch from the bottom. Do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.
