This little lady is a sight for sore eyes. She is also known as the Magenta Triostar. Her exotic and unique coloring makes her worth the pampering and attention she needs. She's full with large leaves ready to make a statement.
Light: She likes it bright and airy so medium to bright indirect sunlight is the best for her. Her roots are tropical so this beauty is a fan of the sun. Just not too much or her bright colors may turn dull. Tip: if you want to place her under a window try some sheer curtains to keep her out of direct light!
Water: Have you ever wanted to use one of those cute plant misters? She’s the perfect opportunity for it. Like we said, she’s tropical so she loves humidity. You can place her next to a humidifier or keep her in your bathroom. She loves a good pamper so the steam from your shower is a real treat. Keep her soil damp. A good time to water is once the top inch of her soil is dry. In the winter months she may require more water and humidity.
Toxicity: Great news! This one is all show. She’s nontoxic to pets and people. Must be all the water she drinks.
Repotting Needs: You’ll know she’s ready for a new home when her roots start to clump up or grow close together. The best pot choice is obviously one that compliments her colors but also should be on the more shallow side. Drainage holes are a plus, she loves water so they help prevent root rot. A mixture of a good water retaining soil and a peat based soil is the best to give her the nutrients she needs for her vibrant color.
The color will get more vibrant as she grows and when she's placed in a bright indirectly lit place.
